The 7 classes of Royal Caribbean cruise ships, explained

Allure of the Seas has a few significant differences from other Oasis Class ships, as her amplification has been indefinitely postponed due to Covid-19. In addition, all Oasis Class ships have an extensive Adventure Ocean area for kids. Childcare is available for kids aged 6 months to 17 years, and kids are broken into separate rooms by age group. The FlowRider is a surfing simulator where guests can practice boogie boarding and stand up surfing as water rushes from the front to the back of the FlowRider. Royal Caribbean isn't done adding new Oasis Class ships, Utopia of the Seas will be the sixth class and the company has hinted they haven't ruled out adding more.

It’s a good idea to reserve as you don’t want to be caught out as the venue fills up. If there is space the staff will do their best to accommodate you. Suites Are RidiculousThink of a suite on a normal ship and you might think essentially a balcony cabin with some more space. Royal Caribbean revamped the ship in 2019 and has some of the wildest suites you’ll ever see. The favorite one that we saw is above the captain’s bridge and offers 180 degree views in the bedroom as it juts out the side of the ship. There are also some of the most luxurious spots you can imagine… if you have the money.
Oasis Class Bars and Lounges
Right nearby is the Ultimate Abyss, a dry slide that takes you spinning down to the Boardwalk below. One unique activity here is a zipline that will carry you across the open split in the ship and over the Boardwalk. Of course, the design will vary based on where you are around the ship.
The Pool and Sports Zone
With the amount of entertainment, organized activities, and dining venues onboard, there is little chance guests will ever get bored on an Oasis Class ship. Like Oasis of the Seas, Wonder of the Seas has a Caribbean-style pool deck complete with colorful decor, lounge areas, casitas, extra hot tubs, and The Lime & Coconut bar. Wonder of the Seas has more seating options available on the pool deck, including a movie screen theater area.
There’s also Portside BBQ, serving Texas-style BBQ up on the pool deck. The sports bar serves food including burgers and Poke nachos to enjoy while you watch the game. EntertainmentRoyal Caribbean always places a big emphasis on entertainment, and Oasis is no different.

There are also some variations in attractions among the five Voyager Class vessels. Navigator of the Seas has a relatively new waterslide zone that's home to The Blaster, the longest waterslide at sea. You won't find that on the other ships, though most of them have different waterslides. Only three of the five ships — Voyager of the Seas, Navigator of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas — have laser tag courses. Adventure of the Seas is the only vessel in the class with a kiddie splash zone.
Oasis Class ships have three main entertainment venues onboard. Found only on Oasis Class ships, the AquaTheater is where Royal Caribbean’s aqua shows are performed, combining diving, slacklining, aerialists, synchronized swimmers, and more. Also located on the pool deck are jacuzzis at each of the four pools, two large cantilevered jacuzzis, and several pool bars. On the sports deck of each Oasis Class ship is a mini golf course and sports court. Both are open throughout the day, with select activities such as pickleball and basketball tournaments listed in the Cruise Planner.
The Vue is the second new bar on Wonder of the Seas, which takes the spot of what would have been a second cantilevered hot tub near the Solarium. The Vue extends over the side of the ship and a signature drink menu specific to the bar is coming soon. The Wonder Playscape has taken the spot of what would have been a second FlowRider. Therefore, unlike other Oasis Class ships, Wonder of the Seas only has one FlowRider. The Wonder of the Seas Solarium resembles the Solarium on a Quantum Class ship more than that of other Oasis Class ships.

See how we put our own spin on a backyard favorite, with pitmastery perfection at the new Portside BBQ℠. And we’ve got you and your sweet tooth covered at Sugar Beach℠. However, Royal added El Loco Fresh, which focuses on Mexican quick bites like tacos and other food-to-go items, and Hooked Seafood, a casual eatery with a menu of fresh seafood and a raw bar. Royal Caribbean's Oasis-class ships are the line's biggest, most popular -- and most expensive -- ship class (until, as seems likely, the even bigger Icon class of ships launches in January 2024). New bars have also been added, with one of the most notable being the new Vue bar for Wonder of the Seas, a cantilevered bar that offers panoramic ocean views.
At certain times of the day, the glass walls transform into an expansive ambient surface called Vistarama that projects real and imagined scenes. The two more Icon Class ships debuting soon will be equally over-the-top in size and venues. Is your idea of a great vacation a trip to a megaresort loaded with more restaurants, bars, theaters and watery amusements than you can imagine?

But beyond just the size of these massive ships, their design makes them remarkable as well.
The Vue has taken the space of one of the cantilevered hot tubs onboard, so instead of two like on other Oasis Class ships, there is only one. The private sundeck includes its own plunge pool, bar, and outdoor lounge areas. Allure of the Seas is one of two Oasis Class ships with Sabor, a Mexican specialty restaurant and tequila bar, which is located in the Boardwalk neighborhood. Select Oasis Class ships also offer Battle for Planet Z, a laser tag arena, onboard. The arena is glow-in-the-dark and sure to be a fun activity for kids and adults.
There are two "secret balconies" positioned close to the aft elevators on Deck 9. Both balconies are small (each is furnished with a table and two chairs), overlook Central Park and are some of the best points to view the entire neighborhood. "Small wonders" are called a total of 42x telescope-like devices (positioned throughout the ship) displaying tiny 3D art pieces. The boat has 17 decks, of which 16 are passenger-accessible and 11 with cabins. There is a room with vending machines, selling everything from toiletries to headphones, located on deck 15 near Social100. Elevators on Wonder of the Seas use a touchscreen feature, and several floors have images or graphics next to the number to help guests remember what is on each floor.
Through 2020 summer, Oasis had planned 7-day Florida-Bahamas itineraries visiting Port Canaveral, Nassau, and CocoCay Island. For August 1 (2020) was scheduled a special 8-day itinerary also visiting Miami. By the Jogging Track (aft on Deck 5/Promenade) there are several small seating areas fitted with all-weather Adirondack chairs (positioned near the railings).
